Homes in Sacramento

Sacramento was listed in Business Insider as being in the 10 American Housing Markets that made Tremendous Turnarounds in 2012. It is California's Capital City, and one of the best places in the state to call home. From culture to an excellent job market, we have it all.

Prior to the fame brought about by the California Gold Rush, what is present day Sacramento was previously part of the Alta California province of New Spain during a time when the conquistadors laid claim to Central America and the American Southwest. Part of the Spanish Empire, the city was founded in 1849 by Samuel Brannan and John Augustus Sutter, Jr. The city of Sacramento was selected as the state capital of California in 1854.

During the early 1900s, the Rancho Del Paso and Rancho San Juan Mexican land grants that included a great deal of the northern region of Sacramento County were sold to the public, whereupon many historic developments such as Citrus Heights, Orangevale, Carmichael and Fair Oaks continue to grow today.

Schools, Wine, and Water

Along with its rich history and culture, the city of Sacramento offers a great deal in the form of some of the state's best public schools and colleges. Statistics show that the median income in this affluent area is upward of $86,000, while at the same time unemployment rates within the city are lower in contrast to other locations in the region. Sacramento's vineyards generate and account for a large portion of the income and business in the county. In fact, the Sacramento Valley boasts some of the finest wineries in California.

Folsom Lake

Many areas of the county are an absolute paradise for those who enjoy the outdoors, especially water sports. You have your pick of the Sacramento River, American River, Folsom Lake, and Lake Natoma. These locations are excellent for long walks along the river, the adrenaline surge of jet skiing, rafting, and water skiing, or the peacefulness of kayaking or canoeing in the less crowded waters. The American River or Folsom Lake offer a chance to walk or ride on the American River Bike Trail connecting the two over some 30 miles.

Lastly, if it’s the beach that you love, Sacramento County is less than a two hour drive to the Pacific Ocean. Like we said, our county has just about anything you could want in a lifestyle.
